After reading then books and boys blog I believe that it was created to raise awareness to the importance of reading and to try and interest boys by using popular subjects.
The slogan that they use is "readers are the leaders others follow" and I believe that this means that people who read gain intelligence through the books and better english skills which sort of gives them an edge over people who don't.
I believe that boys who want to start to read more would be interested in this blog because it talks about ways to make reading more fun and gives good recommendations on novels that boys might like.
I read the entry on the 'National Turn off T.V. Week' and it talks about a week in the year where people are encouraged to turn off their televisions and "READ A MOVIE." It also lists some interesting novels that may interest young boys.
I found this list particularly interesting as I am looking for new books to read and browsing the shelves isn't working too well.
I did not feel inclined to post a comment because they way that the writer wrote made me feel like he was talking to a large audience and not me personally.

wow todd, i am impressed with your interpretation of the article, you cleary understand the issue of boys not reading enough. my name is matt by the way. National turn off TV week is an interesting way to encourage boys to read alot more. I may try that myself as I find that there is not much interesting things on tv anymore.

I agree with what you have said, and browsing the shelves sometimes gets frustrating for me too! Maybe we should get into some books from 'books and boys'.

hey toddy, its wicksy here nice 7 goals you kicked on the weekend. I agree with what you have said in this blog entry. I think that you have a good understanding of the blof you read. Turning off the TV for a week sounds like a good idea but there are alot of people that dont have time to watch TV so how are they going to have time to read? Turning off the TV would help most people though.
